MODEM (ver 2.10a) Abandoned Freeware MODEM provides a method to automate modem opeations within a batch file, then check the results using DOS ERRORLEVEL processing. A high-level language (such as Basic or Pascal) also can "shell" or "exec" MODEM and check the results via the DOS return code. MODEM can also function as a simple Terminal program for checking and setting your modem parameters. Note that this freeware version only communicates to COM1 on IRQ4 and COM2 on IRQ3 (the /I switch is not functional), and that you cannot log modem responses to MODEMLOG.TXT (the /L switch is not functional). Attempting to use these switches will generate an error, which will be logged to a file DEBUG.TXT, that the program will create in the directory which contains modem.exe.
