PCISLEEP (ver 12 mar 2005) Abandoned Freeware PCISLEEP can "put the computer to sleep" by turning off the CPU and certain PCI/AGP devices (to save energy). You can also get a report on the PCI/AGP devices in your computer. Type PCISLEEP for a list of switches. Note that no "desktop state" is stored, or caches are cleared, before sleeping. Caution: Advanced Power Management [APM] works poorly under DOS. Many memory managers will balk at allowing the CPU to be turned off. - Some VGA cards wake-up from "S" in an invalid mode, where you can only see a blank screen (you can though still enter commands or CTRL-ALT-DEL blindly). Utilities like "MODE CO80" can reset the card back into your preferred video mode. - Some displays will loose sync when using "V". While you can still enter commands blindly, about the only way to restore the sync (if you don't have a display reset) is to reboot.
