ATSEND (ver 2.1) Shareware made Abandoned Freeware ATSEND.EXE allows users to send "AT" commands to Hayes compatible modems from the command prompt, or from batch files. If the ATOK=NO variable is not set, the program will wait through 10 timeouts before it quits. Responses from the modem will be displayed both on the screen, and in a created file "ATSEND.OUT", in the same directory as ATSEND. The ATSEND command could, for example, be used to dial a numeric pager (you dial the pagers number, pause momentarily, send the string of numbers that equals your callback number, and then disconnect). Two other utilities are included. HEX2DEC is a converter that displays the decimal equivalent of a hexidecimal number. ATBATCH is a wizard that will walk you through building a simple batch file that will set the proper Environment variables, execute ATSEND, and then clear these Environment variables. ----- TIP: Cheap Numeric Pagers can still send powerful messages. For example, attached to the callback number could be an inexpensive personal answering machine (even an old cassette tape type) on which you could record a message for the caller. Another trick is to create a number code (like the police "10" codes), which you send instead of a real telephone number. For example: 111 = "the network is down", 222 = "return to base", 333 = "you've got mail", etc.. file = ATSEND.zip ==================== SERIAL (ver 2.02) Abandoned Freeware Serial is a monitoring TSR, which can display complete serial port information anywhere on the screen. Useful for troubleshooting serial port configuration problems. file = SERIAL.zip
