Links (ver 2.29) Freeware Links (not to be confused with Lynx) is a Textual Web Browser for DOS, consisting of a single file: "LINKS.EXE". Links uses a WATTCP Packet Driver, and although it will give a notification if none is found, it will still load as an Offline Browser. Links will look for a WATTCP.CFG file in the startup directory, but if not found, it will use other means to try and discover the appropriate IP addresses to use. Links requires DPMI, and will find and execute CWSDPMI if this file is in the same directory as the Links executable (bypassing the need to pre-load DPMI services). Although Links was inspired by its big brother Lynx (power users should really give Lynx a try), there are several differences. One especially neat feature is its built-in ability to be a Braille terminal. The first time you start Links, it will create a subdirectory "LINKS.CFG", in which it will create 3 files: "BOOKMARK.HTM", "LINKS.HIS", and "COOKIES.TXT". When links starts, you will see nothing but a blank screen. Press the [ESC] key to see the pulldown menu. Links will use a mouse if a mouse driver has been loaded. You can start Links in a graphic mode by typing "LINKS -g" on the command line. If you have not pre-defined a videomode, it will refuse to load, and present a help screen explaining that you need to use the "-mode" switch. Syntax is: LINKS -g -mode [width]x[height]x[colors] Note that the colors argument may be 16, 256, 32k, 64k, or 16m. file = LINKS.zip =============== CWSDPMI (release 7) Freeware Included is a complementary DPMI service for V2 of DJGPP. file = CSDPMI7B.zip
