DOStodon (ver 26.January.2024) Freeware What is old is new once more. Mastodon is a Social Networking platform that functions much like a graphical version of oldschool News Groups. However unlike NetNews, it uses the ActivityPub protocol over HTTP instead of the NNTP protocol. To connect to a Mastodon Server, you simply tell DOStodon the URL of the server you wish to connect with, along with your Mastodon account login email address and password. DOStodon is not a program per se, but rather a DOJS "Java Script" script that (like Commodore Amiga computer scripts used to do to access Social Networking) pulls together a suite of disparate DOS programs to form a Client that can access a Mastodon Server on the Internet Although I have not personally tested it, this DOStodon package should contain everything needed to access Mastodon (including DOJS, WATTCP.CFG, cURL, and CWSDMPI), with the exception of a PC/TCP Packet driver for Internet access. Note that you can update the individual programs in this package should you desire (although updated software will be bundled with future versions of DOStodon packages).
