xlHTML - converts proprietary MicroSoft Excel spreadsheet files into HTML 

pptHTML - converts proprietary MicroSoft PowerPoint presentation files 
		into HTML (text only, the graphics are not converted)


For a quick conversion, use the command syntax: 
	xlhtml input.xls > output.htm 
	ppthtml input.ppt > output.htm 


Note: as HTML is inappropriate for NetNews, use an HTML file converter 
(such as HTMLStrip found on this gopher server) to create plain Text.
